Top-trending LA Times story: “Ricky Gervais is totally NOT the top-trending LA Times story, we swear”

Joining such reliable news outlets as Vox, The Daily Beast, and those supermarket tabloids that just found Bigfoot, The LA Times emphasized to its readers–all of whom were busily reading about Ricky Gervais–that nobody was reading about Ricky Gervais.

Again, The LA Times wants to make clear that nobody is Googling the name of Ricky Gervais. Nor should they.

Despite hosting yet another Golden Globe Awards ceremony (a show that many call the Oscars of award ceremony shows), Ricky Gervais failed to garner any negative attention toward Hollywood or shine a light on any glaring hypocrisy on its part. And as an unbiased news source, the Times was obligated to point out that much as they would like to report on Ricky Gervais, they simply could not justify giving any attention to such a dull “non-story.”

When asked to comment, Ricky Gervais was unable to give an audible statement from under the piles of fan mail covering him. But our reporter was able to confirm that it contained a string of obscenities, followed by a laugh as he began crawling his way to the bank.
